Flash is the most widely accepted and available web-based video format. Approximately 98% of internet users have Flash capability in their browser. When high quality source video is used, remarkable results can be achieved. This also results in substantially smaller file sizes. Flash offers several compression options for various uses. The success of the Flash format is attributed primarily to A) Highly effective compression; B) High quality output; and C) Multiple use options. Please contact us for further information.
Flash video may be deployed in several configurations. "Streaming" flash is the most sophisticated and requires the use of the .flv file on the web server. When a "call" is made for the video the Flash Server, or equivalent, delivers the video in a steady stream, without interruption. This technology dynamically compensates for user bandwith and other variables. Due to the high bandwidth demands at the server, this is also the most expensive method of deployment.
"Progressive" flash delivers the video in increments based on the users available bandwidth. With the exception of very short clips, there will be pauses in the playback.
